About : Submission Guidelines
We receive many submissions over the course of the year and aim to consider each one carefully so we appreciate your patience with this process.
It is important that you familiarize yourself with our publishing program before you send us a submission. Please browse our website, download a copy of our current catalogue and review the guidelines below.
Please submit and proposal by email first and from there we will advise if we would like to see the complete manuscript.
If you decide to submit a book proposal, please follow these guidelines:
we only publish Canadian authors
we accept submissions in hard copy by mail, or digitally by e-mail. We do not accept submissions by fax.
If you are submitting by e-mail:
in your covering e-mail, please include a brief summary of what your book is about and how you feel it will fit with our publishing program, as well as your address and postal code and whether your submission is a multiple submission
include a short biography and publication history in a single, separate Microsoft Word doc.
include a short synopsis of the work and a marketing plan (including thoughts on how your book could be promoted and who you think will buy your book) in a single, separate Microsoft Word doc.
include the manuscript in a single, separate Microsoft Word doc. For non-fiction, include a table of contents in this document. Please ensure that your manuscript appears in order within the document.
double space all materials
please do not send digital images by e-mail. Images that accompany your manuscript can be sent by mail on CD or DVD for onscreen review
mail us a hard copy of your manuscript printed on paper

include a self-addressed, stamped envelope with sufficient postage for the return of your manuscript, or indicate if you would prefer us to recycle it should we decide not to pursue publication
do not send us original art or photographs, however, digital images may be submitted on CD or DVD for onscreen review
indicate if your submission is a multiple submission

We have a review process that can take up to six (6) months from the time we receive your submission. We will e-mail you when we receive your submission so you will know that it has arrived safely but after that please do not expect to hear from us for at least eight (8) weeks. Please do not e-mail or phone us to check on the status of your submission until at least three (3) months have passed.
